Shannon Ivey

Shannon Ivey is an Associate Professor at TLU, an Actress, Writer, and an active proponent for theatre for social change. Her life's passion is connecting the stories inherent within theatre, film, and new media to the messages of non-profit organizations. In support of that mission, she serves as CEO and founder of Theatre For Change.
Prof. Ivey holds a double B.A. from The University of the Incarnate Word and her M.F.A. in Acting from University of California, Irvine. Shannon has worked professionally as an actress, director, and writer in Texas, New York, and Los Angeles. Some of her most notable credits as an actress include: ABC’s Notes from the Underbelly, CBS’ Criminal Minds, CW’s All of Us, Showtimes’ Sleeper Cell, WB’s Justice League, King Lear, Hamlet, Solid Gold Cadillac, Moon Over Buffalo, Doll’s House, Victor Victoria, and Wit. David Legore

David Legore, Chair, Professor; Prof. Legore directs faculty productions and works primarily with student actors, directors and writers. A 1991 graduate of TLU with a B.A. in economics, Prof. Legore cultivated his passion for theatre as a student actor and director at TLU. In 1995 he earned his M.F.A. in directing from the University of South Dakota, where he was twice in the regional finals of the Irene Ryan Acting Competition at the American College Theatre Festival. Believing that performance artists must be entrepreneurial creators and distributors of content, his pedagogy explores the interactions of performance craft, content creation, digital media, and entertainment economics. In support of this scholarship, he has attended conferences and seminars exploring the use of emerging digital technologies for content creation and distribution, including BEA / NAB, SIGGRAPH, LDI, and the Digital Media Academy. He is an award-winning filmmaker, winning a Silver Remi award at the 40th Annual Houston WorldFest International Film Festival for his original, feature-length movie SILVR BULLETZ, BLAK DUZT. That screenplay was recently adapted for the stage, with the title SILVER BULLETS, BLACK DUST. His original stage play TRIGGER WARNING was produced by Theatre For Change in 2015, being showcased at the Classic Theatre of San Antonio, Texas A&M San Antonio, and TLU. His most recent writing project is entitled FLAGS, an original stage play about property and prejudice. His writing can be found at the New Play Exchange. He was a member of the Texas Theatre Task Force, a local conservation group that successfully restored the Texas Theatre in Seguin.

Austin Manning

Austin Manning, Adjunct Professor. Professor Manning returns to his alma mater (B.A. Dramatic Media, Class of '11) to teach DRAM 435 Producing and Management. His M.F.A. is in Technical Direction from the University of Virginia. Manning currently serves as the Director of Production and Technical Director of the ZACH Theatre in Austin. Other professional credits include serving as the Assistant Technical Director at the 5th Avenue Theatre in Seattle, the Assistant Technical Director of the ZACH Theatre in Austin, the Technical Director of the Summer Repertory Theatre in Santa Rosa, and the Stage and Venue Manager of SeaWorld San Antonio. His scholarship includes focus on emerging technologies while balancing available resources. He is also active as a servant leader, serving on the TLU Alumni Association Board; the Federation of Gay Games, Culture and Ceremonies Committee; the Austin Men's Soccer Association; and the Spiritual Pride Project.
Terry Price

Terry Price, Adjunct Professor. Professor Price returns to teach at TLU, after serving the department between 2002-2013. Price will teach two courses, DRAM 132 Introduction to Dramatic Media and DRAM 232 Design Fundamentals. He will also serve as Production Designer for faculty production. Professor Price has received Theatre Critic's and national and regional Clio awards for design and art direction. He is listed in 2000 Outstanding Artists and Designers of the 20th Century, Who's Who in Entertainment and Outstanding People of the 21st Century. He has presented several papers at international conferences including ATHE and FIRT/IFTR in Krakow, Poland. He has conducted workshops on DMX Control, Digital Sound Editing and Computer Aided Drafting and Design. He is the author of Stagecraft: Structure, Art and Craft in Theatrical Production. He was also co-creator of several theatrical events including Finite Earth and The Green Pepper Projects I and II. Mr. Price earned a BA in Drama from the University of North Carolina at Asheville and an M.F.A. degree in Design and Technology from Virginia Tech.
